Saint-Etienne Cathedral is a religious monument located in the historic center of Toulouse, not far from the Augustins Museum. It has a rather unusual exterior facade, a mixture of several styles and different periods. The interior is also quite original with a Romanesque part and a Gothic part. We are seduced by the richly sculpted stalls, the baroque high altar, the railings and all the stained glass windows. The chapels decorated with altarpieces, paintings and reliquaries form a series of small museums. And for the culture minute, know that the designer of the Canal du Midi, Pierre-Paul Riquet, is buried there in a crypt, located in front of the Orleans pillar. Admission is free with access for people with reduced mobility and animals are not accepted.
